Location
Ravenspoint Museum is located in the village of Kershader, South Lochs, Isle of Lewis.
The museum operates within the Ravenspoint centre, which also houses the local shop, post office, café, hostel, and launderette.

Ravenspoint Opening times
Monday to Saturday, 11.00 am – 4.30 pm.
Closed on public holidays.
Opening hours may vary due to severe weather, staff sickness, etc. Visitors are advised to check in advance if making a special journey by phoning 01851 880236.
Entry is free. Donations are welcome.
Access information
The building is accessible, though some areas of the museum are too tight for access by mobility scooters.
The museum shares its building with the shop, café and post office. Shop staff supervise access to the building but do not operate the museum. During the summer season, volunteer guides are usually present to assist visitors.
Visitors with specific access requirements are encouraged to make contact in advance so that arrangements can be discussed.
Directions
From Stornoway or Tarbert, travel on the A859.
At Balallan, take the turning signed for South Lochs (B8060).
Continue for just under six miles. Ravenspoint Museum is located on the left-hand side in the village of Kershader.
What you’ll find at Ravenspoint Museum
Ravenspoint Museum holds and displays items relating to the history and everyday life of the local area, with material reflecting the townships and communities of Pairc. Displays and interpretation focus on local experience and change over time, drawing on objects and documents held by the society.
The Angus Macleod Archive is located in the museum. It is an important collection of written and recorded material assembled by Angus Macleod MBE. The archive supports research into local history, language, and culture.
Ravenspoint Museum and the Society
Ravenspoint Museum is managed by Pairc Historical Society, in partnership with Co-Chomunn na Pairc, and forms part of the society’s wider work to collect, preserve, and share the history of Pairc in South Lochs.
Alongside the museum, the society supports local history through talks, events, and the maintenance of historical records and publications relating to Pairc.
